March 6, 2009 Groundhog Job Shadow Day
NVTC's Groundhog Job Shadow Day program gives students the opportunity to "shadow" executives, technology workers, and workers that support the technology industry within NVTC member companies as they go through a normal day on the job. Job shadowing provides students an up-close look at how the skills they learn in school are put into action in the workplace, reinforcing the connection between academic achievement and career planning.

March 17, 2009 Small Business Resources
This is the place to start! Our free one hour orientation workshop will help you understand all the resources, programs and services provided by the Community Business Partnership programs: The Women's Business Center, the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center, the Business Finance Center, the Financial Education Center for Women Entrepreneurs, and the Business Incubation Center.

Three times each year, the Business Alliance Grubstake Breakfast brings together the region's brightest entrepreneurs, potential investors and business leaders in a highly innovative forum that shapes the growth and development of the entrepreneurial companies in the region.
March 27, 2009 5th Annual Mason Entrepreneurship Research Conference
Since 2004, George Mason University has been organizing an annual research conference to promote dialogue and collaborative research among scholars interested in the topic of Entrepreneurship. Mason's School of Management and School of Public Policy will cohost the 5th annual Mason Entrepreneurship Research Conference (MERC).

The DBA’s events calendar provides an up-to-date listing of seminars, workshops and conferences on a range of business-related topics across the State of Virginia.


Fairfax County Economic Development Authority - Business Calendar
The FCEDA produces a Small Business Calendar of Events designed especially for small, minority or women-owned businesses plus many of the local chambers of commerce and business organizations also host events open to members and nonmembers.


Community Business Partnership
Created in 1995, the Community Business Partnership is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. It was formed in response to an identified need for small business technical assistance and financing services, particularly to low-moderate income and disadvantaged individuals, including minorities, women and the disabled. While providing high quality training and counseling to all small businesses, the Partnership seeks to provide a financing alternative to benefit those unable to attract a commercial loan or other traditional source of funds.
