Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) is one of the newest offices in University Life. We believe that everyone has the potential to be a leader and our mission is to provide leadership training, resources, services, and recognition to encourage students to become socially conscious leaders and civically engaged citizens.
In just one and a half years LEAD has developed a number of co-curricular programs and services for students:
The Mason Leadership Institute
The Mason Leadership Institute is offered each semester for student leaders and those students who have an interest in exploring their leadership potential.
Presidential Leadership Dialogues
The Presidential Leadership Dialogues are scheduled twice per semester to allow a select group of students the opportunity to discuss leadership topics with President Merten in a small group setting.
Leadership Speaker Series
The Leadership Speaker Series is a collaborative effort between LEAD and other University Life or Academic departments to bring leaders from a broad spectrum of professions to dialogue with students about leadership.
Emerging Leaders Program
Emerging Leaders is a 9-week interactive workshop experience, which introduces students to leadership and involvement opportunities at Mason.
LeaderShape
Mason LeaderShape is a six day interactive, energizing and unique experience that builds leadership skills. It fosters a commitment to leading with integrity that results in extraordinary change.
